BUCPAM Ku-Band 250W BUC Power Amplifier - Anti-Starlink Uplink
The BUCPAM is a Ku-band Block Upconverter with Power Amplifier for anti-Starlink uplink interference. GaN 250W across 13750-14500MHz for EW spectrum denial.
Technical Overview
Integrates upconversion and amplification at 13.75-14.5GHz. Accepts IF 950-1700MHz converting to RF while amplifying to 250W. Low noise LO for precise frequency generation. Double-balanced mixer plus multi-stage GaN PA. ALC maintains output across temperature.
GaN Technology
GaN HEMT technology on SiC substrate provides higher junction temperatures up to 225C enabling aggressive thermal designs and higher power density. Wide bandgap 3.4eV allows 28V operation simplifying power supply. Superior radiation resistance and load mismatch tolerance for military applications. Thermal conductivity of SiC enables efficient heat removal for MTBF exceeding 15000 hours.
Architecture
Multi-stage amplifier with optimized interstage matching for maximum bandwidth. Input output isolators provide stable impedance. Sequenced bias control for safe GaN operation. Built-in test including power detectors temperature sensors current monitors via RS485.
Power Supply
Single +28VDC supply with internal regulation and over-current protection. RS485 supports polling and autonomous alarms. Hardware enable provides sub-microsecond blanking. Reports current voltage temperature power fault status. Non-volatile config memory.
